Selecting "To IPA" will let you convert a word to the International Phonetic Alphabet. This is a representation of how a word is pronounced, meaning that, for example, "two", "to" and "too" are all written /tuː/.
You can convert a word back from the IPA by selecting "Spell Word".

After clicking on an IPA word, you can select "Delete Phoneme". You could for example change /pɔːt/ to /ɔːt/. (Spelled out this is "port" to "ought")

After selecting any word, choose "Merge" and then the word you want to merge it to from the popup menu. You can delete lots of letters before merging, so you could merge "th", and "e" to "the".

You can split a word which is in the dictionary into two words eg. "handbook" -> "hand" "book" is possible, but "bighat" -> "big" "hat" is not, because "bighat" is not a word.
